Learning More About Your Craft

As the title of my Blog suggest I am approaching this wonderful craft/art carefully and with measured steps. Baby Steps. However, unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have heard about Craftsy Classes. I personally subscribe to almost every one. I have missed a few and there is always more wonderfully talented designers and teachers signing up every day. I watch for the specials and get the classes at a reduced rate when possible . If that was not enough, Craftsy has fantastic deals on major big name fabrics with the best designers. I have been stacking my stash for a rainy day. Love this company!! I will be sharing new sale information as I receive it here and on Facebook. Take care, keep your needles sharp and your mind sharper.

Winning Streak!!

Can't believe how many wonderful things I have won the last couple of weeks. If don't enter you will never win is my motto. I don't enter every one. Just the ones I really like. I received a little basket of lovely fabrics and two bag patterns. The Barcelona and the Cancun Clutch. Colorful zippers, too from Pink Sand Beach Designs. You will probably remember they shared their Hawaii vacation with one of their beautiful bags. A fun filled adventure.
Seams like a Dream sent me the cutest tote. Named Two Star Tote. Really like it. Very well made.
I received a really cute Small Quilt Kit from Fabrics and Quilts. Ready for my first Christmas project. Thanks!
And to top it all off I received a beautiful stack of Hoffman batiks! I was happy as could be. Then not to be out done I was notified this morning I had been chosen to receive the Cool Cats Creations Hoodie. Thanks every one. I can say nothing but nice things about all of you because it is true. Feeling blessed.

November FMQ Challenge

First I have to say "I love Sarah!", with that said, I love spirals. On this sandwich that I started during another month, I continued to do the spirals. Some are really wonky. However, by design. lol
I did take Sarah's class this summer and learned to do spirals. I tried to continue on the sandwiches I made for that class, forgetting what a horrible time I had using them. I made the mistake of using flocked material that I had  been given. Looks pretty, however, my machine does not like it for FMQ.
Two days ago I decided to finish up this assignment and move on. I did move, or rather my chair moved. It slid out from under me. My butt hit the floor, however, it was my knees that hurt for two days. All better today.(Rug is now under chair and cushion is Velcro attached.) After spending an hour trying to get the tension adjusted, then figuring out it was the bobbin that needed to be re-threaded, I decided to just submit what I had already finished.
I will continue to use spirals.

October Challenge

Terri Lucas' tutorial was great, easy to understand and looks super too. Would have thought I could make a go of this one. However, something got in the way. A beautiful baby boy named Adrian. He is my Great Grandson. Named after his Grand Mother Adria, who is named after her Great Grandfather Adrian.

Big Sister Bea and Adrian
I think she likes him

September FMQ

September's FMQ was very challenging for me. Going over stitching to travel is not my finest moment. Practice does help. I did this four times. You would think each one would be an improvement. Not the case. The one I chose to publish is the first one I did. New machine so there was a learning curve. Still trying to get everything set properly depending on the feet I am using. The BSR was used on this one. Stitches are too small for me. Working on that. So here it is!!

This was fun. I got lots of practice going over and over with the metallic thread.
